After the iconic 'Access and Money' adverts, the next most popular and memorable must surely be the 'Does You Does or Does You Don't?' adverts. These were based on the 1944 Louis Jordan song 'Is You Is, or Is You Ain't My Baby?' The video below sees a couple in a restaurant, having apparently racked up a pretty stiff bill. All of the Does You Does adverts were undertaken by the agency Gold Greenless Trott - and were produced by Rose Hackney/Aardman Animations.
End voiceover by Paul Nicholas.
The next video features a man who getting ready in his hotel room, phoning to get tickets for a show at the Regent Theatre. The 1991 variant shows a different style Access card at the end.
End voiceover for 1990 advert by Paul Nicholas. Voiceover for 1991 variant unknown.
The next video in this series features a man checking into a hotel in France.
End voiceover unknown.
The last video in the Does You Does series is slightly different. It's more musical, and contains a new slogan at the end, spoken in what now seems rather a condescending tone ... Doesn't Everyone?
End voiceover unknown.
